I think people got confused as to why I started a bard. The main reason I started up a bard is because I have a LOT of time on my hands this month and my WHM is only 400 TNL 31 and my BLM is 26 which is higher than the other people around 25ish. I started up the bard so I'd have something to do in my spare time while waiting for people to get a group together.
I started up a BRD over the other classes for the following reasons: (a) WHM and taru complement BRD in an ideal fashion, (b) summoner is a PITA and I also wanted to play a class which didn't have to meditate, (c) I read some posts that said that RDM+BRD/WHM+PAL is all the healing you need and began to wonder if WHM+RDM+PAL was healing overkill at the expense of more DPS -- so having a BRD was hedging my bets.
My plan is still to level up my BRD in my spare time to my WHM's level. However, since there are now a lot more healers I will bring whichever class people want me to play and then level the other class in my spare time. i.e. so if you want me to be WHM I will bring that, if a BRD is better I'll bring that. Either way I'm leveling both.
Also, I'm sorry again for my whining about primary BLM healing. I'll heal with my BLM to 30 if people want me to do that (although since there are more healers now that's probably not necessary ... just saying that I'm willing to do it whatever circumstances arise that it would be helpful).
