Default Oh EMarr, how I miss thee

Hello hello to all,

Very few of you know me I imagine, so this will seem out of the blue and strange. Er, let me start again. Hello, I'm Alanaina Lavaillante 60 Phantasmist of The Grey Legion. At least I was, a very, very long time ago.

Now, I'm Ahlyne 60 mage of Yet to be Determined Guild. I made the mistake of joining the server that I'm on, it's full of idiots and pain, some months ago. I thought it would be like good old EMarr (god how I loved it so) but it turned out to be a living nightmare. I stumbled upon your page while trying to investigate some way out of the hell I've created for myself (by the way, I like that you've reverted to your original name). I realize that you're a horde guild, so I couldn't possibly join even if I switched servers..

So I guess, what I'm looking for is former Emarr players, or former Emarr guilds existing in some form somewhere else. I'm desperate and non-descript as this post would imply, because seriously, I have got to get the hell off of this server.

So hello to all those I know, and those I don't. And for the love of god, if you have anything or anyone to suggest, I'm listening, *grin*.

Toodles,

Alanaina/Ahlyne
Exploding and mez'in for a livin' since '99

I was in The Grey Legion for a very short time as well. Seems like ages ago though!

A big chunk of Magister plays on Khaz Modan, but they're Horde as well. Affliction was big into EQ2 but I think some of their players moved back to WoW. I dont' know who/where but their site might be worth looking into.

Good luck!

Hey I was in the Grey Legion too for a little while when I came back to EQ.

Almost all WoW servers are full of idiots. The problem with WoW is that it's way to easy. Even the worst players didn't take long to get 60. Hoping the Burning Crusade will change this a bit, but I doubt because Blizzard needs to keep all the 8 million subscriptions.

Hmm I recognize Nylith on the their dkp list, but not any others I think.

I lasted alot longer in EQ through Magister than many, making it about halfway through GoD. Coincendently about the same time WoW beta started, ha.

Affliction was playing alliance if I am not mistaken. But, Yes they were big into eq2 for a bit from what I heard although I'm not sure if they are still playing it.]

Being that your playing alliance I would try to look them up. They were always a very cool bunch of people and a good guild.

Yup I recognize all of those, and even liked most of them, ha.

When did Magister retire from EQ? I certainly hope they did at some point.

Oh jesus. I wonder how raiding with Koryo would be now with vent. I imagine the "MORE DOTS , MORE DOTS!!" guy. I am gonna have to start a guy there just to say hi.

Oh yeah, I certainly had the "WoW is too frakin easy" conversation yesterday. it doesn't frustrate bad players enough and there's not enough Gms to go around. I can only hope that there will be a fall off eventually.

Anywho, I will give a look into Affliction, I vaguely remember them, but it's been so freaking long ago. You know, as much as bitched like the little teenage girl I was about TGL when I was in it, I'd give almost anything to have the old gang back together :^/ Especially my enchanting buddy Ikabod.

Those were the days *sigh*

Familiar names all over. I remember Ikabod as well... he was a great enchanter, just can't put my finger on it in which guild he was.

I have a strange feeling that we weren't in the same guild ever, but I met him in parties and became friends that way.

Good luck all you people in WoW and around, it seems that the train ran over me at the time when I realised that it's just different style of grinding (factions, 3-5 hours committed instances) and I couldn't keep up with it (even if I wanted, which I didn't particularly much even want ).

Ika was in TGL with me, back in the dark ages, we were the only active enchanters for a long long time. So we held it down together and it was wondrous, then after awhile he left the game and things were never the same *sigh*

Aishen was only around here and again when I played, and Cao I never really new personally so I haven't kept tabs on her at all. Macleod plays EQ2 still, Arikel is on City of Heros and has a guild there last I heard from him..

All the others, Frostwolf, Desecration, Okapi, Bizzo, Drazhkahn, Cendan, Snowize..all lost to the ravages of reality as far as I can tell.

I checked out the only Affliction guild on WoW I could find, and they seem to be completely different from the EMarr guild and full up on mages as well, so that was an unfortunate bust.

Anyone else have any other ideas?

TGL is still around, we're on Alleria playing alliance under the name "Tempered Fury".

Our website is http://www.tempered-fury.com

I'm about to start up on Vanguard as soon as I can find a copy. :P
