Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays yall. Anyone get any new games for Christmas? :P

I've been busy with work (a temporary thing which should hopefully end soon), but I fill my time with watching Game of Thrones and playing DOTA 2. I tried the Elder Scrolls Online beta, it sucked. In my opinion, it was actually worse than vanilla Wow, even considering the parts I know they are still working on. The skill system and classes are silly, the movement feels blocky, so I'll I'm probably going to steer clear of that, even though Skyrim (same company) was awesome.

Heroes of the Storm should be fun, but I hope they make it free to play like the DOTA 2 model, otherwise if it's like LoL then I won't bother (that is, I don't want to be forced to purchase heroes constantly).

What's everyone else up to these days?

I'm back to playing Skyrim a bit. About the only thing ESO beta did for me was make me want to play Skyrim again, and I hadn't gotten the DLC yet, so now I have that as well as a ton of mods, and I'm having a blast.

I tried about 10 minutes of the Wildstar beta before I said fuck that. What a ridiculous game.

I'm looking forward more to EverQuest Next Landmark and EverQuest Next than I thought I would be...

Other than that, just working. Life at Dell is better since we went private.

The same thing happened for me Arnwolf. I played ESO online beta which sucked and started playing Skyrim again.

Why do you guys say ESO and Wildstar both suck? I've been looking forward to them.

Supposedly Wildstar is supposed to be more "hard core" and less dumbed down like WoW (and every other MMO) seems to be lately.

I probably won't like ESO since I only sort of liked Skyrim.

I played the expansions for Rift and SW:TOR recently. SW:TOR really does have the best storylines (they are semi-meaningful and good use of voice acting), it was really evident comparing them side-by-side. I quickly got bored in the end-game though. Just took a week to pug through the end-game raids and then basically had seen all the end-game content so quit.

Currently trying out Tera. The cutesy graphics are annoying (think Aion and FF) but I love the "action MMO" aspect to it. I hope more companies put out "action MMOs". Aiming > tab/click targeting.

I created all new chars, so I have a 18 mara and 20 op. I play the op more, name is ketosticks. I'm not on a ton, just toying around in free time when I'm not playing ff14/console games.

Been playing the ESO beta. It's 'ok' I guess. I hated it at first but the further I progressed the better it became. The combat is lacking (I never enjoyed combat in Skyrim either) but the graphics and story lines are pretty good. I don't see a lot of class diversity either as most people either trait a toon all combat or a mix of combat/crafting but doing that feels very limiting.

EQLandmark is complete garbage. Still haven't been able to claim a plot so I spend time (i.e. waste it) running around looking for one or zoning (yes, like old style EQ zoning) into new areas to see if any land is unclaimed there. I've built one large phallic statue and that's about it. Oh, and I've gotten to delete my character a few times due to 'alpha bugs'.

I generally play LoadOut (free FPS) or TW:Rome II now if I'm on the PC.
